Challenges
  • Growing complexity of Partial Differential Equations (PDEs) in CFD, driven by the demand for high-fidelity simulations and real-time solutions, poses a significant challenge for classical computing, as numerical approximations create large linear systems that become computationally intractable at high resolutions

Results

  • BQPhy’s approach leverages Quantum Linear Solver Algorithms (QLSAs) and variational algorithms on HPCs over coming mesh resolution challenges.
  • This enables the solution of CFD-relevant problems on a hybrid classical framework.
  • BQPhy’s Hybrid Quantum-Classical Finite Method (HQCFM) achieved highly accurate fluid flow simulations, with errors on the order of 10-5 compared to traditional methods.
  • HQCFM maintained this level of numerical accuracy while scaling to much larger problem sizes, demonstrating its potential for complex simulations.
  • This scalability suggests significant resource reduction, potentially solving problems requiring millions of traditional supercomputer cores with only tens of qubits.
